Terms of Use

OffRaid is a navigation and ride-recording app for adventure riders, developed and distributed by Apostolis Panagiotou, based in Greece. These terms are an agreement between you and us.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading or using OffRaid you confirm that you have read these terms and accept them. If something here does not sit right with you, do not use the app — and if you have already installed it, remove it.
If you use OffRaid on behalf of a business, club or event organiser, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organisation.
2. Age
The app is intended for adult riders. You must be at least 16 years old to use it, and hold a valid licence for the vehicle you ride.
3. What we grant you
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use OffRaid on devices you control. We are not selling you the app — we are granting you the right to use it for as long as you keep to these terms.
You may not copy, modify, decompile or attempt to extract the source code, nor rent, sell or sublicence the app to anyone else.
4. OffRaid Pro — subscription
The core app is free. OffRaid Pro unlocks the advanced tools and is sold as a yearly auto-renewing subscription.
Payment is taken through your Google Play or App Store account — we never see or store your card details. The subscription renews at the end of each yearly period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The charge is taken within the last 24 hours of the period.
You cancel from the subscription settings of the store you bought from, not from inside the app. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no partial refund for unused time.
Anyone who bought Pro earlier as a one-time purchase keeps it forever and never needs a subscription.
Prices may change. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, and the stores notify you before any renewal at a different amount.
Refunds are handled solely by Google Play or Apple under their own terms. We have no ability to refund you directly.
5. Maps, routes and third-party data
OffRaid maps are built on OpenStreetMap and other providers, contributed by volunteers. That is both a strength and a weakness: off-road coverage is far better than commercial maps, but the data may be incomplete, wrong or out of date.
A line on the map is no guarantee that the road exists, that it is passable on your vehicle, or that you are allowed to ride it. Roads close, bridges wash out, fields get fenced.
It is your responsibility to check that a route is legal and safe before you ride it — especially where it crosses private land, forest, protected areas, military zones or anywhere with seasonal restrictions. Distance, time, elevation and fuel figures are estimates, not promises.
6. Safety — please read this carefully
OffRaid includes features designed to help when things go wrong: SOS, fall detection and live position sharing with your group.
These are aids, not a rescue system. They do not replace your equipment, your judgement, or the emergency services.
They work only as long as the things they depend on work: GPS, mobile network, battery, sensors and your phone's operating system. In the mountains, all of these fail regularly. Fall detection may miss a real crash — or fire when nothing happened. An SOS message cannot leave without signal. Your position in a group may be minutes or hours old.
Never rely on the app alone for your safety. Wear your gear. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Carry a way to call for help — and in remote country, seriously consider a satellite messenger.
In an emergency, call the authorities. In Greece and across Europe, 112.
7. How you should use it
Set up your route before you set off, not while riding. Do not operate your phone while the vehicle is moving. Obey traffic law and local regulations — the app's guidance never overrides signage, the authorities, or common sense.
You may not use OffRaid for unlawful activity, circumvent or attempt to circumvent subscription checks, place unreasonable load on our servers, or upload to groups and events any content you do not own or that infringes someone else's rights.
8. Groups, events and sharing
When you join a group or an event, your position becomes visible to the other members for as long as you take part. That is the purpose of the feature and you choose it. You can leave at any time.
Do not share other people's locations without their knowledge, and do not use group codes to track anyone. What data we keep and for how long is set out in the Privacy Policy.
9. Offline maps
Maps you download are stored on your device and take up space. It is your responsibility to keep enough free storage and to download what you need before you lose signal. We may update or withdraw map regions from time to time.
10. What is ours and what is yours
The OffRaid name, logo, design, texts and application code are ours and protected by intellectual property law.
Your routes, recordings and waypoints are yours. We claim no rights over them, we do not sell them and we do not use them for anything else. You can export them as GPX whenever you like.
11. Availability and changes to the app
We do our best to keep the service available, but we cannot guarantee it. Maintenance happens, servers fail, and a data provider can stop serving us.
The app evolves: features are added, changed or retired. If something substantial is removed from Pro during your subscription, write to us.
12. Ending it
You can stop using OffRaid whenever you want. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these terms — for example by trying to bypass the subscription, or by misusing the group features.
13. Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage, injury, loss or expense arising from use of the app — including errors or omissions in map data, wrong or delayed guidance, failure or false triggering of the safety features, loss of recordings, or an alert that could not be sent for lack of signal.
You ride off-road at your own risk.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that may not lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for instance when new features arrive or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For substantial changes we will notify you inside the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
15. Law and contact
These terms are governed by Greek law, and the courts of Athens have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where the law of your country provides for it.
